Mort Kunstler
Mr. Künstler studied art at Brooklyn College, U.C.L.A. and Pratt Institute. Thereafter, he became a successful illustrator in New York where he received assignments from book and magazine publishers. He learned the value of working with historians through his assignments with National Geographic Magazine. Mr. Künstler was already an established artist when he began to focus on Civil War art in the late 1980’s. His accuracy to detail, from historic towns portrayed in his paintings, to battles, and touching moments between a soldier and his loved one are what make him such a revered artist of this genre. |
